A TEXT POST

—GPG—

I survived four and a half years of college. During those years, I am thankful for a lot of things. One of the things that I am most thankful for is my internship at the Glover Park Group, a strategic communication firm in D.C.

GPG was just a great place to work for, where I learned so much and got to know some great people. The experience really helped me to transition from a college student to a working professional. I loved learning and doing new things in the communication field. Admitted, I sometimes complained about doing some of the things at GPG; but in the end, I loved the work. I want to do more of them.

The people at GPG were just great. I loved the other interns. I loved the staff, who were just so helpful, nurturing and smart. Just great. Working at GPG gave me the chance to talk to people who worked for Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Barrack Obama. Getting professional and personal advice from those people was one of the internship’s highlights.

All good things have to come to an end. Last week was my last week at GPG. Although I wanted to stay, I ended my internship because I want to focus on finding a full-time job and moving to NYC. I wish GPG had a position open in its NYC office. It doesn’t, but what can I do? I am determined to make it to and in NYC. It is hard to find a job that’s going to pay enough for me to afford living in Manhattan, but I am going to keep searching and fighting. *aja*
